There are four dies for the one cent value of design U90. They are:

die 1	(1) "D" of UNITED 2¹/₄ mm wide; (2) "O" of ONE circular (compare with die 3 below); (3) right side of "N" and left side of "E" in ONE not parallel; (4) both "S"s of STATES narrow (compare with die 3 below)	[image provided by Danny Hendricks]

die 2	(1) "D" of UNITED 2 mm wide; (2) "O" of ONE circular (compare with die 3 below); (3) right side of "N" and left side of "E" in ONE not parallel; (4) both "S"s of STATES narrow (compare with die 3 below)

die 3	(1) "O" of ONE oval; (2) both "S"s of STATES broad, with long ends; (3) right side of "N" and left side of "E" in ONE not parallel

die 4	(1) right side of "N" and left side of "E" in ONE parallel or nearly so; (2) back of bust somewhat angled/pointed; (3) "O" of ONE circular (compare with die 3 above)
